The Spy Academy Review 2026: Features, Pricing, Pros and Cons

Word searches and crosswords are popular in the Amazon KDP and Etsy markets, and since many publishers already use them, those markets appear very crowded. Because of this, some creators have started to turn to spy and mystery puzzles. This Spy Academy Review examines one tool that claims it can create such puzzles for you.

The Spy Academy is a puzzle creator that runs inside your web browser. It offers cipher puzzles, anagrams, hidden-message games, and code word grids, all with a spy theme. Once you have completed a puzzle, you can export the pages in PDF or JPG file format. The vendor launched The Spy Academy on October 19, 2026, and set a one-time launch price of $37.

Important: I have not personally tested The Spy Academy. This review is based on the sales page, so it only includes what the vendor says. I will also point out the things you should look at before you make your purchase.

What Is The Spy Academy?

The Spy Academy is a puzzle toolkit that combines five different types of puzzles, and it is aimed at publishers of activity books. On WarriorPlus, it is also listed as The Spy Puzzle Generator, because the sales page URL uses that name.

The sales page states that the tool works in your browser. Nothing needs to be installed, and an API key is not required. You select the type of puzzle, the cipher, and the difficulty level. After that, you click generate. Each puzzle comes with a mission briefing, an agent ID, and the matching answer key.

There was a reason why the vendor produced The Spy Academy. The markets for word searches and crosswords are highly competitive, and many generators use the same word lists. A spy puzzle book gives you a different kind of content to sell. That is the vendor’s own reasoning, so you should check it against your own market research.

The sales page is aimed at KDP publishers, Etsy sellers, Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) creators, parents, and party planners.

Spy Academy Review: Main Features

The sales page presents the following features one by one.

Five Puzzle Generators

There are five generators in the toolkit. Each generator produces a different kind of puzzle.

– Cipher Crackers: You decipher coded messages created with nine ciphers.

– Anagram Missions: Read and unjumble the spy words found within a mission story. For example, NEGAT becomes AGENT.

– Code Breaker Challenges: Readers solve a puzzle before opening up a cipher. The page notes there are four challenges.

– Secret Message Decoders: Messages are plain to see but encoded to hide in plain sight! On this page, learn to use one of five decoding methods: Position of words in the book, First letter of each word, Every Nth letter, Grid numbers, or Grid coordinates.

– A crossword-like game, but you have to substitute numbers for the alphabet. There are various sizes of the grids and multiple start letters.

The sales page may be shown with the sample pages of briefings, write-in lines, and additionally answer keys. However, the sample isn’t a complete test, so be sure to print out every diagram and take a look at every page.

Nine Cipher Methods and Three Levels

The Cipher Crackers generator! Use Caesar Atbash Number code Reverse words Substitution Code Morse Code Keyboard code Rail fence code Mirror writing code The Mixed mode has a surprise for people reading this repeatedly!

Others are simple to describe. The classic example is the Caesar cipher, where all of the characters are the same number of positions in a sequence forward. Mirror Writing requires the reader to put the page to the mirror or read it backwards. Such variety helps to make the book seem less repetitive.

The tool also has three clearance levels:

– Recruit (6 to 9 years old): short messages, big keys, subtle hints.

– Analyst (ages 9 to 14): longer reply, multiple methods and answers, less guidance.

– Field Agent (TV, teens-Adult): multi-steps challenge with minimum assistance.

Because ratings are just a suggestion, don’t forget to read the instructions on each page and make sure the reading level is appropriate for your readers.

Exports, Answer Keys, and License

This instrument provides you with PDF books for those trim sizes KDP accepts and JPGs for each page as well at 300 DPI. Sizes are 7 x 10, 8 x 10, 8.5 x 11, 8.25 x 8.25, as well as US Letter plus A4. (There is also a preview of a 6 x 8.25 size on the page). Double-check everything including the margins, text size and text print quality before uploading to KDP.

For every puzzle you will need an answer key page and that substantially quickens the speed of making a book which has numerous puzzles. However, always check the answers – you won’t need to prepare the answer key page for every book, but one incorrect response will kill the whole publication for the visitor. Please Read The Vendors Terms.

A complete commercial license is included on the sales page. The product is sold on KDP, Etsy, TPT, Gumroad, and your own shop. But what you see on the sales page is just a snippet of the license. Prior to purchasing, please review the seller’s policies, and pay particular attention to whether the puzzles are resellable as PLR, for examplete.

The Spy Academy Review 2026 – How it Works

Three steps to make a spy puzzle book

The sales page sets out three steps.

First, pick the mission. Choose a generator, a cipher, and a clearance level, or select Mixed mode and let the tool make the choice for you.

Next, produce the puzzles. The tool creates the puzzles, the briefings, the agent IDs, and the answer keys. The page states that this takes a few seconds, and the demo shows an example that took 4.2 seconds. I did not time it myself.

Finally, download and publish. You get a PDF book or JPG pages. Then add a cover, upload the files to your platform, and list the product.

The vendor also includes a sample plan for your first afternoon. In it, you choose Caesar, Analyst level, and the 8.5 by 11 size. Then you make 20 missions, create a cover in Canva, and list the book. Treat this plan as a best-case example, since the actual time depends on how much editing and proofreading you do.

The Spy Academy Review 2026 – Who Should Use it?

KDP publishers. If you want a puzzle type other than word search, spy puzzles offer something different. Since there are five generators and nine ciphers, you can produce a whole series. If you are also interested in maze books, my Maze Profit Machine review looks at another puzzle tool for KDP. Just keep in mind that sales depend on your cover, title, keywords, and the level of competition.

Etsy sellers. You can use the tool to offer spy printables, party games, and puzzle bundles. The PDF and JPG versions suit digital downloads. Be sure to check Etsy’s rules and give an honest description of your files.

Teachers and TPT creators. Students can use ciphers to work on patterns and develop their problem-solving skills. However, you need to check every page for accuracy and age fit before you use it in class.

Parents and party planners. Spy puzzles can work for road trips, birthday parties, camps, and library events. Once more, these are possible uses, not guaranteed results.

Spy Academy Review: Pricing and Value

Here are the offer details from the sales page:

  • Monthly fees: none, according to the page
  • Includes: five generators, nine ciphers plus Mixed mode, and PDF and 300 DPI JPG exports

The page gives package values of $297 and $97, with a total of $394 or more. These figures come from the vendor, not from the market. Instead of trusting them, ask yourself which tools you actually plan to use.

I did not see a refund policy or an upsell list on the sales page. So before you pay, read the refund terms on the checkout page and the vendor’s privacy policy.

Spy Academy Review: Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Five generators in one toolkit, so you can make different puzzle types
  • Nine cipher methods plus Mixed mode for more variety
  • Three levels that cover young kids, teens, and adults
  • PDF and 300 DPI JPG exports in common KDP sizes
  • Automatic answer keys on every puzzle
  • A one-time price with no monthly fee, according to the page
  • A commercial license for selling your finished work

Cons

  • I have not tested it, so I cannot confirm the real output quality
  • You still need to proofread puzzles, answers, and layouts
  • The full license terms need careful reading
  • A puzzle tool cannot promise sales, rankings, or income
  • The vendor’s market numbers need your own research

Is The Spy Academy Worth It?

The Spy Academy could be worth a look if you want to build a line of spy-themed puzzles or printables. The combination of five generators, nine ciphers, and three levels of difficulty gives you a good variety of options. Moreover, compared with other puzzle creation tools, the one-time price looks affordable.

The sales page makes big claims about market demand for spy and detective puzzles. It calls the genre a $22.5 billion market. It also shows Publisher Rocket numbers, such as fewer than 300 competing titles for “detective activities.” These numbers show demand and competition. They do not show the real profits from such products, and the page says the same in its own disclosure. Therefore, do your own research on the market and keyword competition before you invest in this product.

So is The Spy Academy worth the money? It depends on three things: the quality of the puzzles you create, the effort you put into editing, and the terms of the license. Since I have not used the tool, I cannot judge the first two. Look at the demo and the sample pages, then decide.
